Smashed is, in broad terms, a coming of age story about drinking. It chronicles over a decade of aperitivo education and the slings and arrows of youth. The zine was produced as an introduction to risograph printing with Calverts in London, and uses their limited-edition neon green ink on half the pages, and an equally bright fluoro orange ink on the other half.

The zine details a time in my youth where I was learning to drink, eventually going out to enjoy the nightlife. Each page represents a chapter in my life where a certain drink, or type of drink, was my go-to and where I thought I had (finally!) found myself and grown up.

The riso machine can produce a huge amount of prints, and I had more than I knew what to do with, so some books were eventually guillotined into postcard-style singles. Other books had the Manhattan recipe spray-painted over in blank, which created space for whatever cocktail recipe had taken my fancy at the time.
